Urban Poor

A young couple strolls past clothes laid out to dry near railroad tracks that run past the Bongkaran slum in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. Many of Jakarta's poor, unable to afford land, are forced to squat along the city's railroad tracks, performing their household chores in whatever empty space they can find.
