Coffee and cigarettes is an hilarious assemblage of short stories that are illustrated around cups of coffee and cigarettes. The idea of Jim Jarmusch (probably, one of the best movie director of all times) is to give a kind of cumulative effect while you're watching the movie. What always comes back is “coffee and cigarettes... not really healthy”. The combination of actors is also just amazing... Benigni, Iggy Pop, the White brothers, Tom Waits (the best!), Bill Murray (the greatest!), Cate Blanchett, etc...
I have to say that my favorites were probably “strange to meet you”, “somewhere in California”, “those things'll kill ya”, “Cousins?” and “Delirium”. This movie is a MUST for Jarmusch lovers like me... a masterpiece that is as great as “Night on Earth”... who said that American cinema was boring?
